

Passed away peacefully on September 21, 2021 at the age of 90. Born March 5, 1931 in Baltimore, MD, George was known for his calm, quiet demeanor, love of nature and his intelligence and creativity. A brilliant research scientist, George worked for the Federal Aviation Administration, the United Nations, the University of Miami Radar Meteorology Laboratory, and opened his own engineering firm in 1974. He earned several United States patents for his work in atmospherics to radar data conversion. He was a member of the IQ societies Mensa and Intertel for many years.
George had a passion for tennis and music. He played bass in the Savannah Symphony and recorded 18 classical guitar CDs. He was a certified pilot and enjoyed flying his family in his single engine Cessna plane. Some of his greatest adventures included flying on the Concorde to Europe, a transatlantic crossing on the Queen Elizabeth II, travelling Europe on the Orient Express, and piloting a nuclear submarine.
George was married to Rita Mundy for 49 years. Together they had six children: Brenda, Melody (Eddie Hall), Teresa, Angel, George III, and Mary (Eric Schmitz). He had six grandchildren: William Bryan (Lori), Richard Bryan (dec.), Rachel Moree, Sarah Goldberg (Michael), Emily Sullivan, and Harrison Schmitz (Dorothy). He has four great grandchildren: Ava Bryan, Ella Bryan, Gauge Goldberg, and Garrix Goldberg.
