Irma Lee Pinder, born February 12, 1920 in Singer Island, Florida passed away on Friday, January 3, 2020. She was raised on 20th Street in Riviera Beach and was one of ten children of Livingston L. and Lillian Fox Pinder. She never married or had children of her own, but was a "second mother" to countless people.
She spent a life of service to her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. She attended the Church of God on 20th Street and was a founding member of Living Oaks Church in Palm Beach Gardens. She taught Sunday School, led worship and directed the choir. She played the accordion and the saxophone. She served her church and everyone she came into contact with. She cared for her parents and other family members during illnesses. Throughout her life she touched lives by prayer, song, good deeds and great food! (Banana puddin')
She worked as a seamstress at Lily Ruben, Jacobson's, Everglades Club, Tops and Bottoms and Martha's. Her motto was 'rich or poor, everyone is the same'. During retirement, she visited the "shut-ins" and was always available for counseling and prayer to loved ones.
She is preceded in death by her parents, all her siblings and their spouses, except for one sister, Eileen. She is survived by numerous relatives and friends. Those who were blessed to know her know..."I am blessed, I am blessed, I am blessed. Every day that I live, I am blessed. When I wake up in the morning
'til I lay my head to rest, I am blessed, I am blessed."
