

Janet Ellis Grandy, 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children and grandchildren at Trustbridge Hospice Care Center in Jupiter, Florida.
She was born May 29, 1941, in Hudson, New York, to Franklin Jay Ellis and Dorothy Helen Ellis.
Janet was a graduate of Wooster High School, Class of 1959, where she was honored as homecoming queen. She went on to attend DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana. She began her career as a teacher and later became a lifelong entrepreneur, owning and operating several educational and children’s bookstores.
A perennial optimist and encourager of dreams, Janet brought light, laughter, and warmth to all who knew her. She had a fantastic sense of humor and a deep love of books, games, and puzzles. She delighted in celebrating life’s moments—big and small—and was especially known for making birthdays and holidays joyful and memorable.
Generous to her core, she found great happiness in giving to others and was a constant source of encouragement, love, and support to her family and friends.
She was a most beloved sister, mother, and grandmother, and a true light in the lives of those who knew her.
She is survived by her daughters, Katherine Stefan and Rebecca Margarites; her grandchildren, Connor, Damian, Madeline, and Marina; her brother, Steve Ellis; her sister, Peggy Ellis Moder; beloved nieces and nephews, and two stepchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Grandy.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
