John Frederick Bowman

John F. Bowman, 92, of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida passed away peacefully June 20, 2025. Born March 19, 1933, in Canton, Ohio, John was the only child of Kiel Bertrum Bowman and Lois Elizabeth Bowman (Hoffee). A graduate of the University of Miami, Cum Laude, John obtained his degree in Mechanical Engineering and worked at General Electric in Massachusetts then Pratt and Whitney Aircraft in Florida. John retired from Pratt and Whitney Aircraft after a long, illustrious career. Retirement was not long for John as he accepted a position with the Palm Beach County School Board as a maintenance helper to occupy his time.

His early interests included model airplane building and flying, automotive body work and boating with the US Power Squadron.

Later in life he and Patricia, his wife, enjoyed the slots in Las Vegas and Hard Rock. He especially enjoyed photography, and they started a wedding photography business together.

Married at age 24 to Mary Irene McLean they had two daughters, Carol and Mary Lou. A widower at age 45 he married Patricia Bowman (Cahill) in 1982 in Palm Beach Gardens. John is survived by his wife Patricia Bowman, daughters Carol Katzell, Mary Lou Bowman-Cubbin, son-in-law Russ Cubbin, granddaughter Lauren Katzell and stepsons Stephen Mark, Glenn Mark, Dennis Mark and their families.

A Celebration of Life will be held on July 12, 2025, at 11:00am at Howard-Quattlebaum Funeral Home 754 US Highway 1, North Palm Beach, Florida 33408.
