
MARIANNE BLACK LOWREY Marianne Black Lowrey of North Palm Beach, FL died surrounded by family at her home on September 20. Born January 27, 1940 to Robert A. and Charlotte Black of Harrisburg, PA, Marianne lived an active life providing support to all those around her. As a smart and beautiful young woman, she graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1961. She worked as a surgical scrub nurse where she soon became a favorite among doctors who appreciated her dedication to perfection and charming disposition. She married James J. Lowrey in 1961 and raised three daughters with complete devotion. She bravely battled breast cancer for twelve years and remained stalwart until her final days, embodying her Scotch Presbyterian heritage. In selfless devotion, she shielded her family and friends from her dire fate until it was no longer possible. A talented artist, accomplished horsewoman and outstanding cook, she will be missed most for her endless patience and steadfast support. She is survived by James J. Lowrey, her loving husband of 50 years; three loving daughters and devoted sons-in-law, Jessica Lowrey and Jeffrey Habib, Tracy and Brian Lenehan and Whitney and Ronald Gaeta; as well as six grandchildren, all of whom will miss their "Gobby" every day. She also leaves behind her sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Carl Hesse and brother and sister-in-law, Robert A. and Peggy Black. A Celebration of Marianne's Life will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 25 at First Presbyterian Church of North Palm Beach. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to help those less fortunate in the name of Marianne Lowrey to the Sari Asher Center for Integrated Cancer Care at the Palm Beach Cancer Institute, 1411 N.
