The beloved son of Carolyn and Norman Glover, Michael was born in Bethesda, MD September 26, 1951. Carolyn, his mother, found happiness with Charles Patrick Scheffler, blending their lives together with another son, Rodney, and Charles adopting Michael and his sister, Patricia, in 1965. Michael was a devoted and caring brother to Rodney and cherished uncle to Rodney’s son Kellan.
At the age of 19, Michael answered the call to serve his country and enlisted in the Navy. He eventually made his home in Philadelphia, where fate brought him together with Sheila. Together they welcomed his first daughter Linda. After several years unfortunately they separated and Michael embarked on a new adventure and moved to West Palm Beach.
Michael began working for the city, doing what he did best, rooting himself in community and service. This is where he met Jane Trahan, who also worked for the city. In 1980, Michael and Jane married and were blessed with a beautiful daughter Lauren. Together they fulfilled a lifelong dream, building a beautiful log home that continues to stand as a testament to their love and the memories they created. It has become a treasured legacy for Lauren and his grandchildren, Luke and Camille, who continue to fill it with warmth, laughter, and love.
Michael's generosity extended beyond his immediate family. For several years, he owned and operated an irrigation business where his skill and kindness touched the lives of his customers and friends alike. He was always ready to lend a helping hand, nurturing not only gardens but also relationships, bringing beauty and care to the yards and hearts of those he met. He walked with a light that you could feel, a Christian man who lifted everyone around him. He had no hate in his heart, only warmth, kindness, and a gentleness that made people feel seen and cared for.
He is lovingly remembered by his sister Patricia Katz, brother Rodney Scheffler, nephew Kellan, daughters Linda and Lauren, and grandchildren Luke and Camille.
Michael’s gentle spirit, unwavering support, and the love he sowed in the lives of others will be cherished forever in the hearts of all who knew him. His spirit will forever remain in our hearts!
