Born in Newark, NJ, he was the son of Philip J. and Ida (Panullo) Santora. He was a graduate of Newark Academy, the University of Cincinnati, and New Jersey College of Medicine and Dentistry. He interned at Mt Sanai Hospital in New York City. He was a well-respected oral surgeon, with a private practice in Woodbridge, NJ, and having served on the staff of John F. Kennedy Hospital in Edison, NJ and Rahway Hospital in Rahway, NJ.
Philip was dedicated to his family – his wife, children, and grandchildren - often making large Italian meals for everyone to gather together for his cooking. He spent most of his life living near the ocean, and loved the water and swimming.
He is survived by his wife, Denise Santora, three sons Philip, Mark, and Christopher, two grandchildren Silverina and Josephina.
There will be a private service for the family.
