Born on April 6, 1964, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Sharon was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph Protting and Janice (Pepplar) Protting.
From the beginning, Sharon was known for her strong will, joy, simple beauty, selfless love, contagious laugh, beautiful eyes, and a smile that lit up the room the second she was in it. Living in Palm Beach County, she loved being by the water and spending time at the beach. She was extremely athletic, had a deep love for music, and had a beautiful singing voice. However, the accomplishment she was most proud of was being the greatest mom on earth to her son, Mark.
Sharon married Mark Morabito Sr. in 1988, and on September 21, 1993, welcomed her miracle baby, Mark Robert Morabito Jr. All Sharon ever wanted was a child she could love and spoil, and she did just that! Her pride and joy was her son, and she showered him with love at every opportunity. From dressing him in brand-name clothing like Ralph Lauren, OshKosh, and Polo, to weekly trips to Toys "R" Us for the latest Power Ranger action figures, LEGO sets, or video games, Sharon's world revolved around Mark. Her life’s mission was to see her son graduate with a bachelor's degree - a goal he proudly accomplished in 2021 when he graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University.
Sharon made sure that every holiday and birthday was a special and impactful celebration for Mark. She was the most selfless, caring person anyone could meet, always putting her son, family, and friends first. Even in her final days, she continued to smile and express her joy through her beautiful eyes.
Sharon was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at the young age of 23 and bravely battled the disease for the next 38 years. Despite her diagnosis, Sharon never let MS define her or prevent her from living life to the fullest. She loved to travel and experience new places like Hawaii, the Bahamas, and, most importantly, Disney World. She also loved food, with Italian cuisine being her favorite.
In addition to her parents, Sharon was predeceased by her grandparents, Kathryn and Thomas Pepplar and her brother in law Greg Ravn.
Survivors include her son, Mark (Megan) Morabito Jr.; Mark Jr.’s father, Mark Morabito Sr.; her siblings, Susan Ravn, Joseph G. Protting, and Patrick Protting; her nephew, Zach Logan; her grandpups, Maylie and Minnie Morabito; and many other family members and friends who love her so very much.
Sharon’s family wishes to thank the team at Gardens Court, where Sharon resided and was cared for over the past 10 years. They would also like to send their gratitude to the compassionate medical professionals at Gardens Medical Center and Trustbridge Hospice for their care and empathy during her final days.
A funeral Mass for Sharon will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at St. Clare Catholic Church, 821 Prosperity Farms Road, North Palm Beach, FL 33408. Following the Mass, a graveside service will take place from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM at Riverside Memorial Park, 19351 SE County Line Road, Tequesta, FL 33469. To represent Sharon’s vibrant personality, guests are encouraged to wear cheerful, colorful attire.
The greatest way to honor Sharon’s memory is to smile, face challenges with optimism and strength, and live life to the fullest - just as she did. Her son, family, and friends will continue to do so in her honor.
Memorial donations in Sharon’s name may be made to the National MS Society to support research and assist families living with Multiple Sclerosis. Flowers may be sent to Howard-Quattlebaum Funeral, Cremation, and Event Center.
