WILLIAM SAMUEL FOX "Billy Sam" William Samuel "Billy Sam" Fox, 76, was born December 26, 1934 in Obion, TN and died on June 19, 2011 in West Palm Beach, FL. He grew up in Obion, graduated from Union City High School and attended the University of Mississippi. He was 1st Lieutenant Pilot for the Air National Guard, the personal pilot for the Governor of Tennessee and moved to West Palm Beach in 1968. He is survived by his wife, Jo Fox of 42 years; step-daughter, Beth Akl; son, Gordon Fox (Melodye); daughter, Carol Abernathy (Tootie), Eric "Ty" Fox (Christine); grandchildren, J.W. Akl, Cecilia Fox and Rebecca Fox and brother, John Fox (Lynn). Sam loved ocean fishing, scuba diving and duck hunting with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Florence (Peacock) Fox of Obion, TN. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Howard Funeral Home in North Palm Beach, FL. Funeral and burial services will take place in Obion, TN.
