1928 – 2022
Alireza Tamehi passed away on July 31, 2022, at the age of 94. He was born in Tehran, Iran. He was predeceased by his brother and two of his five sisters. He married Heshmat Rahgo and together they raised three sons, Mohammad, Hamid, and Mehdi who are grieving his loss. He was the loving grandfather to Kimya, Neema, Rodin, and Parsa. He spent 68 years of his life in Iran, with the rest in Vancouver, Canada.
Alireza graduated as an Agricultural Engineer from Karaj University and worked in the sugar refining industry in various provinces in Iran. After retirement, he consulted part-time for a number of years before retiring fully. This allowed him to fully engage in his passion for tending to his orchard in a picturesque valley in central Iran.
As a devoted Muslim, Alireza studied the Quran, prayed, fasted, and observed his faith in a very personal way. Family, friends, and everyone else who encountered him found him to be compassionate, honest, humble, and content.
Alireza will be greatly missed by all. We honor his humanity and cherish all the precious memories we have made with him.
Service will be held on Monday, August 8, 2022, @ 2:00 pm at First Memorial Boal Chapel, 1505 Lillooet Rd. North Vancouver, British Columbia.
