On this summer solstice we say goodbye to Irene, age 96, predeceased by husband Allan (2021) and survived by son Gordon (Sarah) and daughters Joanne (Carson) and Janet (Andrew), 5 grandsons and 4 great grand children. She was the last surviving sibling of the 6 Horne children Curtis, Ruby, Wes, Mary & Alice who were all lifelong residents of North Van.
The family owned and operated the Horne Brothers shingle mill at the foot of Chesterfield from early 1900 - 1960' s.
A heartfelt thankyou to all the care workers for their compassionate and dedicated care.
Mom will be remembered and the story told of how strong her heart was.
