Bev was born in Verdun, Quebec and lived in Calgary most of her life while raising three daughters with her husband Gerry. Together they retired to Kalamalka Lake in Vernon before moving to Kelowna, with Bev settling in Vancouver for a short stint to be closer to family. Married for 59 years, Bev and Gerry took pleasure in their time both in the Okanagan and Palm Desert where family often came together.
Following a short career with Air Canada in her early 20s (where she was too tall to qualify as a flight attendant!) Bev met and married Gerry. She became an outstanding homemaker and consistently provided a welcoming environment for family and friends. Loving wife, mother, mother-in-law and Nonnie to her grandsons; Bev embraced every day with poise and a smile and made friends wherever she went.
Bev was active throughout her life with badminton, curling, tennis, skiing, and in particular, she was a keen golfer with two “hole in ones” to her credit! She was a talented sewer, and craftsperson and dabbled in both watercolour painting and guitar playing and loved nothing more than a sing-song.
Traveling widely with Gerry on business and pleasure, Bev saw many parts of the world including Romania, Russia, China, Brazil, Ireland, and numerous destinations in Europe. She lived a full, rich life marked by a seemingly inexhaustible supply of grace, charm and humility. She was easy to love.
Bev is predeceased by her husband Gerry and daughter Gail. She is survived by her daughters Lynn (Philip), Tara (Gordon), grandsons Andrew (Tessa), Stephen (Sophie), Christopher, and Rohan, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A stroke in 2017 left Bev with challenges on the left side of her body. Rarely complaining, she worked hard each day to become and stay as independent as possible. She was an inspiration to us all, filling each day with her sense of humour and her enjoyment of life. Her passing leaves a big hole behind for family and friends. She will be dearly missed, but never forgotten by all those she touched.
