Carol passed away peacefully, after a brief stay in Lions Gate Hospital.
Carol is survived by Melvin, her husband of 59 years, son Tony and daughter in-law Cherie, son Steven and grandchildren Lucas and Simon. Sister Heather and husband Ron Harrison and their children Bradley and Christopher. Brother Micheal Tourigny and wife Susan and their children Claire and Laura.
Carol was born in Ottawa, Ontario. Her parents Roual “Ricky” and Elsie Tourigny moved to Vancouver when Carol was 6 months old.
After secretarial school, work led Carol to the Vancouver Police Department, Vancouver City Hall and 23 years at Commercial Aquatic Supplies with her best friend Brenda Cumming.
Carol spent a year and a half living in London England, where she worked for the British Hovercraft Company typing specs. She was told she worked too fast and was showing up the other girls.
Carol was known for her infectious laugh, her kindness and generosity, and her witty comebacks.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at the Capilano Rugby Club, Friday September 25th, from 2:00pm to 5:00pm. Klahanie Park 305 Klahanie Court, West Vancouver.
