

Cynthia Margaret Renwick (nee Ward) died peacefully at the age of 97 on Friday July 5, 2026 in Vancouver. Cynthia was born July 1, 1928 in Goole, Yorkshire, England, to Thomas and Florence (nee Everatt).
Cynthia went to Oxford University on scholarship (Lady Margaret Hall), where she graduated BM BCh (Oxon) and MA (Oxon). Having met her future husband Gordon at Oxford, they married on September 11, 1954 in Goole, and emigrated to Canada in 1955. After serving as General Practitioners in Ottawa, they, with their family moved to Vancouver in 1974. Cynthia had an interest in Jungian analysis and she began a private practice of psychotherapy which continued until her retirement.
Cynthia and her family spent many happy times at their summer cottage on Galiano Island. Following Gordon's death in 2022, Cynthia moved into Crofton Manor retirement home where she enjoyed many years of social activities and concerts. Due to declining health, Cynthia spent her final two years in Braddan Private Hospital. Cynthia was an avid reader and a kind and sympathetic friend to many people.
Cynthia was predeceased by Gordon James Renwick, her devoted husband of 48 years. She is lovingly remembered by her sons, James (Annette), and William (Islay-May), by her sister, Marigold Routh, by her grandchildren, Matthew (Lauren), Leigh, James (Kelsey), Catherine (Brad), and Nicole (Liam), and her great grandchildren, Miles and Reid.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the exceptional staff at Braddan Private Hospital who cared for her with grace and love.
