1914 – 2012
We lost a classy lady on October 20th. Dorothy died peacefully, in her 99th year. She was predeceased by her parents Burton and Phoebe, sister Evangeline and brothers Lorne and Reginald. She leaves nephew Burton, cousins Lois Reilley and Kathleen Evans, also Ruth Doll (Denis) and family. Dorothy moved from Winnipeg to New York, then to Rome where she lived for 20 Years, working with the United Nations. She and her sister travelled widely, touching all continents. They were both multilingual, an asset in their travels. Dorothy retired to her beloved West End of Vancouver where she walked the seawall daily, a familiar sight with her white cane in later years. She enjoyed classical music, art, bridge and golf. Many charities have appreciated her support. Special thanks is extended to the staff at Villa Carital and to Dr. G. Aronshtam for their exceptional care of Dorothy. A Celebration of Life will be held at First Memorial Boal Chapel 1505 Lillooet Rd., North Vancouver, Saturday October 27 at 2PM
When you walk the seawall please smile at others, especially Senior Citizens, as a remembrance of Dorothy.
