It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Doug Lake at home on December 7. Born in Vancouver to parents Deward and Nancy Lake he spent his life on the South Slope, attending Walter Moberly Elementary, John Oliver High School and UBC.
He is survived by his wife Elaine, son Bradley, daughter and son-in-law Dawn & Will Popovich and his much loved grandchildren Emma and Eric Popovich. Also left to grieve his loss are the Brownell, Dupont and Brownlee families. A special thank you to his personal chauffeur, Joan Kerr.
Doug was happiest at the American Hotel, volunteering at Camp Olave, and cooking for his international students.
As per Doug’s wishes there will not be a funeral, but a family gathering at his favourite place, Camp Olave on the Sunshine Coast.
