I am so saddened to hear of Earls passing. My deepest condolences to the family. He was such a delight to work with and I’ll cherish the conversations and laughs we’ve shared.

We are very sad to hear of Earl's untimely passing. We remember Earl as a kind, fun-loving person with a passion for the great outdoors! We are very sorry for your loss, please accept our heartfelt condolences.

I remember the exact time, day and place I first met Earl. He was alone, sitting in his lawn chair waiting.......in the dark, in front of an unopened school. No one was going to get ahead of him to register his child for French immersion kindergarten. We spent some time alone chatting, before the rest of the parents began to show up. That was 30 years ago and we have been friends ever since.
He so epitomized the true essence of friendship. He always checked in, always helped out, and always did so with enthusiasm and gusto. He helped me many, many times over the years and in spite of some rocky family moments along the way, we always remained true friends. That is a testament to him.
And in spite of physical distance over the last 2 decades, we always stayed in touch, occasionally got together, and our friendship stayed intact. This was a rare gift one that I cherished.
He was a smile, a helping hand, a hard worker, a lover of life and jokes, and a great "chatter" of all things, but most especially his girls.
My heart breaks for them, and I also shed tears for my own loss of a long time wonderful friend.

I had the privilege to meet and work with Earl at Island Health. From day one he was pleasant, kind, funny and full of such amazing energy! Always had a story to tell and a joke to get us all laughing! He was thoughtful and kind and would always think of others in everything he did! We got spoiled with baked goods that came all the way from Saskatchewan, just how his momma made them! (Thank you to his mom by the way, it was delicious). He created memories for all of us and made us all feel important. I loved talking cars with him. It was fun to see his excitement about a "cool vintage" find and his next purchase. I only knew him for a short time yet I feel like I have known him an eternity. My thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and everyone who knew him, loved him and had the pleasure of having him in theirs lives. We'll miss you Earl! But I will be sure to think of you every time I hear a slightly inappropriate joke and when I order those delicious tarts again from Columbia Bakery! May you rest in peace my friend. 💛 Gone but never forgotten.

Madeleine and Francesca, the sudden loss of your father is such a shock to all of us that knew him! Simply, trying to wrap your brain around the circumstances and the tragedy that occurred is really quite mind boggling! I am so deeply sorry for your loss and the weight that is now upon your shoulders!
I knew Earl back in the early days before you girls were even a thought in the scheme of life. Your mother and I have been friends since we were basically children, 14 years old! The journeys we have shared over the years have included the early days with Earl. I remember clearly the one time that him and your mom came to Calgary to visit and we hung out and Earl and I ended up wrestling and rolling on the floor with laughter! Your dad was such a strong presence in this life. His character and wit and wisdom will be sorely missed.
Yes, he was stubborn and had strong opinions but one thing is certain, the apple of his eye was always the well being of his daughters! He was always there for you girls and the number one supporter of your decisions and your path through life! I know he will always be there watching over you and encouraging your journey, each and every step of the way!
Be kind, be strong, take solid sure steps, watch the ocean, hold on to your memories and mostly carry the love of your father in your heart…he will always be with you!!
Deepest condolences

Thinking of you both and sending you my deepest condolences. What beautiful words about your Dad and his life .

I was so sad to see that your Dad has passed away. I graduated high school with him and caught up with him at our 50th high school reunion. He was truly a character and I know you will miss him terribly. I’m sure you have many treasured memories of your Dad.

Earl was a general character, and our families met when They lived in Comox. We traveled to meetings and conferences together along with our comrades in The Golf Industry. Many good memories and friends were made. Earl's priority was always His Girls and our chats of their accomplishments and turmoils were discussed when we were together. This is when his eyes lit up.
My condolences to all the family.
Earl will missed.

Truly one of the good guys. Will miss the chats, the near beers, coffees, or the texts of funny memes for a laugh. My deepest condolences to his family, especially his girls.

Our thoughts ans prayers are with you and family.

I met Earl for the first time in Perth Western Australia when traveling with his brother Terry through Australia. Earl and his wife Margie were so kind to me and we became good friends after I stayed with them for five or six weeks at their home in Cottesloe. I’ll never forget every morning Earl and me would get up early and go for a swim at the beautiful beach by their home. Although distance made it difficult to see Earl often I always stopped for a visit when on the island and caught up on the phone from time to time. I will cherish the fond memories of time together while missing him very much. Rest in Peace my good friend and I’ll see you again on the other side…tom

I was privileged to know Earl and too, will miss his daily texts, regardless of where he was. He was a big car guy and was never afraid to tackle something. Stubborn and meticulous in all his tasks, he was always ready to step in with a helping hand. And his girls....he loved his girl above all, and never missed an opportunity to share their accomplishments and travels.
