Dad emigrated to Canada in 1957 with his best friends Bent & Chris. In 1959, he married the love of his life, Sylvia. They were married for more than 66 years. They were more than a married couple: they were the best of friends. Together, they raised their four children which marked the beginning of their beautiful family of too many to count.
Erik (Dad) was the kindest, most generous man who was loved by so many. He had a laugh you could never forget and we will remember him for his endless story telling. There are storytellers, there are storytellers, and then there was Erik. He was and will always remain a legend.
Family meant everything to Erik. He instilled strong family values in all of us. He taught us so many life lessons that we will never forget.
Families across Vancouver and abroad will remember Erik’s connection with children. He had a magical gift, children instantly loved him because he understood and celebrated the beauty and innocence of childhood. He had a gift of making every child feel noticed, appreciated, important and loved. He was Far Far to so many lucky children.
He was a highly skilled master mason who worked in North Vancouver and the Lower Mainland for over 60 years. He worked well into his 80’s because he loved it so much.
