Passed away on September 8, 2023 at age 100, formerly of North Vancouver and Qualicum Beach, born February 20, 1923 in Harrow, Ontario, the youngest of five children, to Stanley and Ethel.
Dad was a man of science and attended Western and Yale before joining the Geological Survey of Canada in Ottawa. He headed west in 1955 and never looked back. Dad had a distinguished career as head of Hydrology, retiring in 1985. He was an avid curler, bridge player and pianist. Known fondly for his afternoon swim at the cottage at Qualicum Beach he and mom loved so much.
Predeceased by his wife Laura Jean in 2003, he leave Dave and Dee, Burnaby; Rob and Bev, Kelowna; Jane and Hardy, Prince George; his grandchildren, Dawn, Amy (1976), Jeremy, Stewart, Megan, Sarah, Owen, Amanda, Mandy and Michelle; his 12 great-grandchildren, and 4 nephews and one niece in Ontario.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at AgeCare Carlton Care Home in Burnaby.
