Born September 5, 1926, in Riverhurst, Saskatchewan, he was a loving father to Valerie, Colin, Randy and Tara.
Fred passed away peacefully after a stroke, displaying his irrepressible humour to the end. The day before he died, he sang a duet with his youngest grandson in England, via Skype, completing the entire song.
Fearless Fred lived a life of adventure, having worked in ranching and on the west coast tugboats, and finally owning his own office equipment company in Vancouver.
He lost his beloved Phae in 2011, but rallied to spend his golden years enjoying his 10 grandsons and 6 great grandchildren.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Braddan Hospital who cared for Fred, and to whom he became a favorite.
Fred was pre-deceased by his sister, Inez, and brothers Leo and Carl, and half-brothers Bill, Stuart and half-sister Hazel.
A Memorial to Celebrate Fred's life will be held in January for family and friends.
Shared memories in lieu of flowers.
