George and Jean  visited us often  and stay in our cabin. Four of us (George , Jean Jack and I )  used sit on the deck and enjoyed birds - chickadees, quails, peacocks....  One day a bald eagle flew over the water right in front of us. George thought  it was really something. Haruyo Hazelton

I was very sorry to hear of the passing of George Hazelton who was my first cousin. 
I do not remember meeting George but do remember Uncle Albert and Aunt Dolly (nee Hunt)in the1950s on their return to England to visit family. 
My wife read about the passing of George on the internet.
The Hazelton family do pop into my head from time to time but I am not in contact with any of the Hunts in England but bearing in mind I was the youngest of that generation it isn’t surprising.
I recently had a Heritage DNA test which uncovered a lot of 3rd and 5th cousins in Canada and America.

Sorry to hear of the passing of George Hazelton who was my first cousin.
My wife learned of the sad passing of George on the  internet. As far as I know we never met although I still remember uncle Albert and Aunt Dolly (nee Hunt). I believe they visited England in the 1950s and the Hazeltons often pop into my mind still.
I hope this finds the family well.

Going to visit Uncle George and Auntie Jean was always fun.  I remember looking at all the tools and projects in the over- stuffed garage and at all the memories piled in the basement.  I remember many a dinner when we'd have the dishes all washed and put away and George would still be at the table with a full plate of cold food in front of him as he told another one of his stories.  

When I was about 10, I became interested in airplanes, and when Uncle George found this out he took me flying.  It was a day of two firsts for me - the first time I'd ever been in a small plane and the first time I'd ever been with my Uncle George by myself.  I was a pretty shy kid, so this was a huge scary deal to me, but he made me feel special.  We flew around and then landed at a little airport where he bought me lunch and told stories.  What a huge adventure!  Years later I realized we never left the Lower Mainland, but for a shy 10 year old, we were traveling the world!

I miss my dad Jack everyday, but I take comfort in knowing that Dave, Butch, Doug and he are reunited with their big brother.

I was seven years old when suddenly a family of six boys moved in next door. They replaced a family of six girls that had lived there previously. I have many good memories of the Hazelton Boys but George always seemed to be the one that stood out for his quiet knowing demeanor. He was into Harleys. I remember a beautiful blue machine that he treated like a piece of jewelry. Some Friday nights his buddy Ken Dale another Harley guy would drive into their backyard on his black beauty and they would take the fenders of their machines. That meant there was a hill climb or competition of some sort on the weekend. George was always the gentleman. Miss him and his brothers.


My dad, the greatest story teller ever.  I will miss all your great stories you would tell us about yourself, your brothers, your family and all your friends. I will miss hearing about all your exciting adventures under the waters and cruising with mom on your motorcycle. 
 I am so proud to be your daughter. You taught me so much, how to use a tool for woodworking, or prune a rose bush. Jim and I were so lucky to have such knowledgeable, kind  father. One who could take us flying in his airplane  or spend time with us teaching us how to sew a hem on a pair of pants.
I am also so lucky my son ,Trevor was able to spend endless hours with you in the workshop or flying in your airplane too. 
Dad, I will miss you, but I will never ever forget you.

Auntie Jean and family; I always  thought of Uncle George as the family historian, he knew everything and he could fix everything. I loved his impish grin, and his kind heart...I hope that his beautiful memory helps you all through this difficult time....

I am a socially awkward person, but I did not feel uncomfortable in your presence: you made me feel like a good intelligent person, because you are comfortable with your self and a good intelligent person.

I miss many visits with you, Jean and Jack, over tea and a dozen of Tim Horton's  doughnuts.

I enjoyed the stories George would tell of him and his brothers the lives they lived , his diving and flying stories ( some just riveting) about building the pisces  sub, flying to Oshkosh  , old stories of the shipyard and North Vancouver history ,his motorcycle adventures and his  building of everything ... he was a mans man for sure ,very well read and accomplished everything he ever wanted to do and more ... I’ll miss you George have a safe journey!
