George passed away peacefully at Cedarview Lodge North Vancouver. He leaves behind his wife of 70 years, Jean Hazelton. His son James (Brenda), daughter Susan (Alan), grandsons Ryan (Megan), Nicholas (Dora), Trevor (Katrina), great grandsons Shane, Kacey and Chase.
George was born in Toronto and moved to Vancouver in 1944 with his mother Grace, father Albert and brothers Doug, Jack, David, Allan, all predeceased and surviving brother Bob.
George was a marine worker/rigger for Burrard shipyards, a deep sea diver and a talented craftsman/woodworker. He spent 35 years as a private pilot. He also enjoyed riding his ‘Harley’ with the North Van Motorcycle club, Jean holding on tight.
In Georges later years he could be found in his workshop completing projects for his kids, grandkids, neighbors and friends. If you needed something built, repaired or designed, you just asked George.
He will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Special thanks to all the caring staff at Cedarview Lodge
