It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Goran (George) Karl Gustav Cederberg, a husband, father, grandfather, friend and craftsman, who passed away on October 1st, 2024 in Burnaby, BC after a battle with Leukaemia.
Born on November 2, 1948 in Jakobstad, Finland, George was a quiet man who kept his emotions close to his heart.
Those who knew him understood the warmth and kindness within. As a skilled carpenter and builder, he crafted not just homes but lasting memories for his family and friends. His passion for curling, dancing and travelling showcased his zest for life, bringing joy to those fortunate enough to share in these moments with him.
George was first married to Marianne, with whom he welcomed two sons. After Marianne’s passing, he found love again with Betty Lou (son Sean), sharing many happy years until her passing.
He is survived by his sons, Jeff (Leanne), David (Erin) 6 grandchildren Bronwyn, Matthew, Logan, Allie, Regan and Beau, older brother Hakan (Peggy), many nieces and nephews and friends.
He was pre-deceased by his bother, John (Lisa) and his parents, Olof and Naima.
He will be remembered for his quiet strength, and the love he showed through showing up for dinners with a bottle of wine in hand, a warm hug and lively discourse.
George will be deeply missed and greatly remembered.
