It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and friend, Helene Creps.
Helene was born in Albertville, France, on April 1, 1947, the youngest of five children. From a young age, she had to learn to be independent and strong, shaping a life story filled with love and resilience.
Love: Helene was a devoted and supportive mother to Laurent and Henri, and she embraced her daughters-in-law, Sandrine and Catherine, with the same warmth and support, treating them as her own and being their #1 fan. As a grandmother, she built unbreakable bonds with Leo, Louise, Charlotte, and Michael, showering them with love and affection. A social and vibrant person, Helene was cherished by many friends and was known for her positivity and loving attitude.
Resilience: Throughout her life, Helene faced and overcame significant challenges. Despite health scares in her 30s and late 40s, she emerged stronger each time, demonstrating amazing resilience and being an inspiration for her family. In 2008, she moved to North Vancouver, where she learned English, made lasting friendships, and embarked on numerous adventures—from traveling to New York and Mexico to joining and helping grow a French choir in North Vancouver. At 70, she completed the Camino and later climbed Machu Picchu, maintaining her incredible vitality and energy and inspiring everyone around her.
Helene will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her celebration of life will be announced on her social media.
We love you, Helene, and you will always be present in our lives.
