James William Heap

We lost this beautiful man James William Heap on July 11, 2026. Born in Penticton, BC, James (or Jim as he was known) spent his early years in Keremeos, later moving as a young teen to Vancouver, BC, where he attended Kitsilano High School. There, Jim excelled in academics and sports namely, basketball and baseball (in his later years, Jim also became an accomplished golfer and curler, winning the Alberta Championships with his curling team in the 1950s).

In his late teens, Jim moved with his family to Calgary. There, Jim started his career as an oil scout with Canadian Superior, eventually becoming president of the Oil Scouts of Alberta. It was at Canadian Superior that Jim met Shirley Lott, who would later become his wife. Jim then joined Molson Breweries, first as a sales representative, then sales manager, district manager, and culminating with a role as sales and marketing director for Western Canada in Vancouver.

After 30plus years, he took early retirement and then spent a few years as general manager for the Molson Indy. Jim was known for his hard work ethic, sharp sense of humour and strong love for and protection of his 'girls'. He is predeceased by his mother Lila, father James, and sisters Mary, Shirley and Joan. He is survived by his wife Shirley, daughters Cheryl, Stacey (Wolfgang) and Jodie (Bruce), grandchildren Brianna, Liam, Kiera, Erik, Amelia and Jack, and his greatgrandchild Riley.
