Joan, a long time resident of the North Shore, passed away peacefully at the age of 87 (almost 88). Joan was born in Toronto and came to North Vancouver with her parents around the age of 3. Joan went to North Van High and later worked as a legal secretary. She was predeceased by her second husband, Gustav Kroll, daughters Christine and Barbara Garnett and is survived by her son, Doug (Nancy) Garnett, and her three grandchildren, Ashley, Sarah and Andrew. Joan loved playing tennis(Capilano Tennis Club), singing in the First Baptist choir and boating (WVYC) on their sailboat. Her passion for enjoying life was evident in her everyday- right to the end; swimming (Pinnacle), traveling, spending time with the people she loved; family, friends and especially Steve, her soulmate these past 15 years . She will be missed by her sister, Dianne Sherry and her nephew, Dennis Sherry (Joylene), niece, Linda Sherry (Ken) and many cousins.
