Brought up by artistic parents, Judy started to draw and paint at a young age and attended Music and Art High School in New York City. She continued to pursue art for the rest of her life leaving behind many wonderful paintings and drawings. She had a great sense of humour and enjoyed life.
In 1949 she married Ernie Fladell from Brooklyn, New York City. They had two children, Matthew and Anne and lived in Manhattan until 1971 when the family moved to Vancouver, British Columbia. Ernie became a well-known figure starting festivals and was highly involved in the cultural growth of Vancouver, and Judy ran an art gallery in the early 70s in Vancouver. They had many friends and enjoyed life together for over 50 years.
Judy is survived by her children Anne, Matthew and daughter in law Kathy, and nephew Richard and his family. She will be forever missed and loved by all who knew her. May angels bear her to heaven on rainbow wings.
