So sad to hear of Keith’s passing. I knew him as a young man in the Beaufort sea.  He was smart and hard working. We shared a lot of sea watches and I considered him my friend. An excellent engineer and shipmate 

Way too soon Keith!
Keith was someone who lived life on his terms and full of wit and thought!
I remember him picking me up at Vancouver Airport to take me for a day of boating with his friends,  finished off with a steak dinner before dropping me off at the airport again. I had a twelve hour lay over that day and Keith packed that full of good memories and laughter!
We got together in Newfoundland when ever he was down that way but I’ll never forget sitting on the Ocean floor in Iqaluit on a small tug boat. Out of the blue Keith walks on board, as he just arrived on a cargo vessel and was on the ocean floor with us. He was full of humour then as well. He put it in a way only he could do, of what he thought about waiting on the tide to go out and sit on the sand unloading a vessel. It was good to see him there. 
Then again in Singapore, Keith kept things interesting in the heat and always added his Witt to all situations. He loved to read a manual until he understood the workings of every small piece of equipment associated with that particular system.
In Keith’s famous line on board, “Listen to me know and try and understand me later”

So gutted to learn Keith had passed. His drive was exceptionally positive. Once he told me all excited, he was going to the North Atlantic. I flashed him a look saying you know what you're getting into right? You can't stop me Rich I'm going! Several years later he was milling about the shop looking for an engine part. How was it? I asked Keith. Hi Rich! It was great but I won't go back he said head slightly bowed. What do you mean? I asked... I broke my back the seas were so rough there, but I'm really glad I went!!!??? Then it was off to run an oil rig in Saudi Arabia! WHAT A GUY. Lightening wit, funny as can be, titan tolerance, fantastic shipmate, so professional. Way to soon man. I'll miss you much old buddy. RIP Keith Davies

Keith was a very good friend of mine. I sailed with him in the Arctic for several years. He was a very clever marine engineer and advanced his career to be a Chief Engineer. I mostly sailed with him on the Robert Lemeur.  When working in the Arctic we had some long hitches by today’s standards 6 – 8 weeks at a time. Keith was always a friend when I was missing my family and friends down south. In his own unique way, he would liven things up for everyone and made ship life far more bearable for me and others.  I will always be thankful for this Keith. 
When I visited with him in Vancouver, he always made me feel welcome and at home. We plenty of great memories in Vancouver and Victoria.  I will miss you Keith and hope you are in a better place!


Keith was a friend and mentor to many young engineers such as myself. He had the ability to teach you valuble information while leaving you laughing till your stomach hurt. He made a big impression in the years I knew him, and his comedic personality will be missed by many.

Keith was a dedicated professional, loyal to his friends and most importantly loved dogs. As a fellow Marine Engineer, I admired his passion and dedication towards the job. He left this world way to early. I will miss him and may he rest in peace.

Goodbye my friend,  Met Keith many years ago when he attended Marine School with my husband Barry (also known as Hooshank) affectionately named by Keith.  He became a good friend to our family and uncle Keith as my kids regard him.  So many fun times from driving in the Camaro to parties barbecues and just having fun!  Always loved kids,animals, and had the quickest wit I've ever seen.  It makes me smile as I watch my grandson play with the Hulk Hogan set Keith gave my own son thirty something years ago.  He insisted kids  love this and apparently he was right! I will miss you Keith, you were truly one of a kind!  Soar with the Eagles, run  in eternity with your beloved cooper.  Love u always. Keith had a heart of gold so many memories. Most times my family remembers him as always helping someone fix something including ours. He enjoyed life, he could lift you up when you were down, I believe he was a genius and a true hero to those he really knew like my family did. He loved kids,  and dogs, he loved to celebrate and no one did it better. I will truly miss my friend and pray  that he is in a place of peace and beauty that he truly deserved.
