

grandfather of six and great grandfather of five, passed away peacefully
at the age of eighty-eight.
Ken was born on January 28 th , 1931 in Bedford, Nova Scotia to
Herbert Joseph Steele and Evelyn Frances Steele (Cosgrove).
He grew up with his family in Nova Scotia that included his brothers
Jed and Don, and his sisters Doreen and Janet. It was there he met and
married Gerri Malone (Steele). They raised two sons, Tony and Danny
and a daughter Kelly. The family moved from Nova Scotia to North
Vancouver in 1965 where Ken began working for Good Year Tire and
later for Imperial Oil. His last position before his retirement was at the
Canadian International College in North Vancouver.
He became very active in the Silver Harbour community after
retirement where he made many friends with his quick wit and
infectious smile. His skills at cribbage could not be denied and he loved
to play card games. He was always hoping for a big win with Keno and
he could often be found at the mall playing Keno with his friends.
Ken was predeceased by his mother Evelyn, his father Herbert, as
well as his brothers Jed and Don. He is survived by his three children
Tony, Dan, Kelly and their partners. His sisters Doreen and Janet, his six
grandchildren Ryan,Sean,Kayli,Lou,Taylor,Cheyanne and his five
great-grandchildren. Also many special nieces and nephews. The whole
family will miss his one of a kind way of telling a joke and his easy
presence.
A funeral service will be held on August 10 th , 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the
Boal Chapel at 1505 Lillooet Road in North Vancouver. Please join us as
