Margaret (Peggy) Bindley, age 98, of North Vancouver, passed away on May 23,2026, at her daughter Debbie’s home in Pitt Meadows. Peggy was born Margaret Shirley Gillespie in Regina on November 7, 1927 and spent her early years in Vancouver and Roberts Creek. She lived in her home in North Vancouver, which she and her husband had purchased in 1954, until her passing.
Peggy spent many years at the family camp, boating and fishing. She had a lifelong interest in fashion, owned her own business and worked as a buyer for a women’s clothing store. After being widowed in 1970, she spent many years perfecting her garden and maintaining her home. She enjoyed traveling with family and spent her happiest times with loved ones. Her generosity was well known among family, friends and even strangers; she never forgot a birthday and spent the year shopping for unique and thoughtful Christmas gifts. Holidays were special because of the thought and effort that she put into them. Her heart and her home were always open for her family.
She is survived by her children Rick(Terry) Bindley; Michale(Lutz)Brode and Debbie (Barry)Dimmock.
She is also survived by her grandchildren Daniel, Jayme, Teresa, Martine, Brittany and Davis, ten great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Peggy was predeceased by her beloved husband Terry and her beloved grandson Jayson.
A private ceremony will be held on June 3 in North Vancouver. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
