Mary Callahan (nee Gooney), born into a family of 13 siblings in Cashel, Co Tipperary, Ireland passed away on May 18, 2024 at Crofton House, Vancouver. She is fondly remembered by her many relatives and friends in Ireland and is greatly missed by her Irish and Canadian friends in her adopted home of Vancouver, BC.
Mary grew up in Ireland and immigrated to Canada in her early 20s. Initially, whilst living in Calgary, Alberta, she worked for the mayor, then moving to Vancouver where she enjoyed a number of jobs, eventually retiring from Polygon Homes Ltd., where she worked in sales and marketing.
In 1980, she married Michael Callahan formerly from San Luis Obispo, California, (passed away in 2021). They were together for 15 + years during which time they enjoyed many visits to Ireland and travel to other European destinations.
Mary was a very kind, honest, sensitive and caring person which was reflected in the way she worked and lived. She will be missed.
