Morteza Khademi passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 20th, 2022 in Vancouver, BC, at the age of 70. He was born September 21, 1951 in Yazd, Iran to parents Alireza, and Sedigeh. He was one of five siblings, Ashraf, Nazie, Farkhondeh, and Masoud.
He attended nautical school in England and always spoke of his fond memories from his time there. Till the very end, he cherished his time on the water and loved his career as a captain. The only thing he loved more was spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Vafieh, their three children, Sahar (Amin), Soroush (Sonja), and Sepehr, along with their four grandkids, Diba, Raha, Darius, and Cyra. Anyone who knew him would describe him as a kind, loving, family man who would do anything for those he loved including the many dogs he had in his life that he would lovingly refer to as his “granddogs.”
Morteza will be remembered by his infectious smile and his kind eyes. Those of us who were lucky enough to know him will never forget how much joy he brought into our lives. He showed us all that life is not just about the big moments; it’s about finding joy in the simple parts of life.
