Peter Willington Malkin

Peter passed away May 30th at 12:44pm peacefully at Creekstone Care with family by his side.

Although our father will be missed so very much, how can there be sadness with what he gave us all. Predeceased by his loving wife Hazel. He is survived by daughter Wendy and husband Kevin, his son Nigel and wife Kristie, grandchildren James, Julie, Jennifer, Matthew and Samantha and four and 1/4 grandchildren Aspyn, Thatcher, Jude, Cassian and Julie is expecting their next child in November. A wonderful legacy of a loving family.

Our parents uprooted at the prime of their lives moving the family to Canada in 1977 to give Wendy and Nigel a better life. What a huge sacrifice for the benefit of us. Peter and Hazel came to a job that they did not enjoy so went back into business for themselves and made Malkin Cleaners a great success that has provided jobs for hundreds, including students from the local high schools getting their first jobs. The family has now been in the dry-cleaning business for over 100 years with Nigel and Samantha still involved in the trade.

He was an avid tennis player, golfer, downhill skier and took up cross country skiing in his latter years. He was always in trouble with the ski patrol when downhill skiing because he was always in a race to the bottom and none of us ever won.

Please do not mourn his passing but celebrate the legacy of his ever growing family. He will be missed but never forgotten. Love and laughs always.
