My dear, adventurous nephew — you will be deeply missed. I’ll miss your corny jokes, which I know were your way of keeping us connected. I’ll miss hearing your stories about that game that carried you to mysterious places with such interesting friends. And I’ll especially miss your warm, deep laugh that could fill a room. Now, I will hold close the love and sweetness of your sister, Sherry, who was so devoted to you in countless ways.

As with many who have written here, I met Richard as Kongg, and I believe the first thing he did was try to recruit me to his team, in vain.

He was always a cheerful presence at events, consistently good-humoured and practically an icon of the game in the lower mainland.

He will be missed.

Met Rick as Kongg and became his friend, helping him to get to Mr. Big and Tall and enjoying his stories of BCs lost treasures and his adventures in taxi-driving.
Another shared interest was Dungeons and Dragons.  We had both played in the early days of the game, with Rick being a driving force behind its popularity in the lower mainland and west coast in the 70s and 80s.
 I was pleased he was able to reconnect with his passion by joining my campaign, although his failing health limited his opportunities to play. 
Farewell Rick - rest in peace my friend.

I knew Rick from Ingress and his enthusiasm for the game was inspiring. He always had great stories of his escapades to tell. He will be greatly missed. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.

Rick took great pride in attending Ingress events as Kongg, his game name. He was instantly recognizable in his bright green jacket, which was covered with badges from the many events he attended. As Kongg, he was friendly to players on both his own Enlightened team and the competing Resistance team. He will be warmly remembered by the many Ingress agents from around the world who saw him at many events in the Vancouver area and across North America.

Rick was a great supporter of cross-faction Ingress events and made great effort to attend them even as he struggled with his health and mobility issues.

I was very saddened to hear of Rick's passing. He was a great guy, very generous, interesting, kind and humorous.  My sympathies to this family and all who knew him.

I was saddened to learn of Richard’s passing. He was a wonderful person with a witty, dry sense of humour that always brought laughter to our group events. His warmth, quick wit, and kind nature left a lasting impression on everyone who had the pleasure of spending time with him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered. My heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.

I, like many others, met Richard through Ingress. He was one of the most social and inviting players on the Enlightened team, always ready with a story or two to share with us. He will be missed.

Condolences to Richard’s family. I knew him through Ingress—a game he truly enjoyed and where he would be a welcoming presence to all players. Kongg will be missed by both Resistance and Enlightened team members.
