It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Ruth Joy Watt on November 19th, 2025.
She is predeceased by her loving husband Harry, and survived by her children Mark (Shari), Jan, Margot, and Allan (Marcy) and her sister Dorothy, her 3 grandchildren and one great grandchild, as well as extended family in Manitoba.
Born in Emerson, Manitoba on October 29th, 1930. Ruth dedicated her life to caring for others, as a devoted wife and mother as well as a nurse in her earlier years. She also volunteered her time. She will be remembered for her kindness, resilience and unwavering love for her family. Her compassion and strength touched many lives; she was beautifully busy and wouldn’t have it any other way.
She will be in our hearts forever and will be deeply missed.
A memorial service to honour Ruth’s life will be held on Saturday, January 10th at 1:00p time at South Burnaby United Church at 7591 Gray Avenue, Burnaby.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arthritis Society, or the BC Cancer Society.
