I am so sorry to hear of Dr. Morcos' death....I met him in the early 1970's when I was his secretary at the Middletown State Hospital in New York. In addition to being a clinical physician with three wards of patients, he covered the morgue in the absence of the Pathologist. He was a wonderful person, a cultured gentleman and became a good friend. We kept in touch for many years and I remember when he started to learn Chinese. He was always expanding his knowledge. And he made the most wonderful stuffed grape leaves. I am pleased and honored to have been able to call him a friend and send my deepest condolences to his family..

I remember uncle Wasfi as a very hospital man. I stayed in his appartement for two or three days overlooking the harbour and the sea in Vancouver in late december either end of the 70ies or beginning 80ies. The view was very impressive at that time and he was generous to us young people. Having lived longer than most of us, imagine what his eyes have seen since 1914. He may rest in peace now.

Uncle Wasfi, I was honored to get to know you and be your friend when I lived back in Vancouver. Almost 25 years ago when I first met you through my work, I was still new in Canada. You taught me how to love life and to enjoy every moment, and you transmitted your young spirit to everybody. You were such a gentleman who shared many elegant hobbies from painting, learning foreign languages, music and your political views, I remember enjoying the spectacular fire works from your famous balcony, and the great times we shared with friends around you. You will be deeply missed, yet I know you are in a better place, please pray for us.

Dear Dr. Wasfi, I first met you about 40 years ago when I was living in the same building as you, when I arrived in Vancouver. After that we were good friends. I remember all the times you invited a whole bunch of people from our community, to watch the fireworks from your balcony. You were always generous. Most of all I remember celebrating our birthdays within the same week. I appreciate your love of art, music and beauty. I have so many wonderful memories of you, your smile, your positive attitude, your intelligence, your love of life. I will miss you. May you rest in peace, with our Lord Jesus Christ, and all the saints

Uncle Wasfi is one of a kind,
Remembering each time we talk over the phone always cheerful , happy, and thankful.
He is a kind of person you love to be around, he is know for his strong faith , generosity to any one he encounters and his sense of humor.
We will miss him a lot.
For my cousins Magda, Hani, and Mervet, I wish them comfort and peace in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Uncle Wasfi was a trail blazer from his generation and truly a one of a kind individual. He had a sharp wit, a love for learning and an honest demeanor; always generous with those around him. He learned a different language and painted well into his 90s. He is an inspiration to me and everyone who came across his path adored him.
Rest in peace Uncle Wasfi.

The doctor who was a wealth of knowledge, who was humble and down to earth. When I lived down town near him we spend a fair amount of time when I visited him and talked. I drove him around the west side of Vancouver enjoying the beaches and the university campus. I learned from him some important facts about diseases that were endemic in Egypt during the times he practiced.

Dr. Wasfi Morcos was an angel on earth & it was an honor to take care of him... carry on his legacy by the way he lived his life with dignity, his deep faith, most of all his unwavering love & generosity for others. He was truly a gift to everyone he touched!

Fly high, rest in peace in the hands of God.

Farewell our dearest Baba Wasfi, we will be missing you♥️

There is never enough time to say everything in your heart. My father will be greatly missed by both family & friends alike. He was a remarkable person with many talents & skills. When he set out to do something, he would do it with precision and aplomb. No two ways about it. He had a sixth sense about things . He was very intuitive also. Growing up he had two expressions that he threw out at me: 1) Is it true this lie ? & 2) Age before beauty. We used to go for Sunday drives to Goshen or Poughkeepsie, New York ,either to a hole in the ground below street level seafood restaurant for all you can eat crab or a Greek fare, then a visit with friends with 3 St. Bernards. Sometimes we would try new places with me as the navigator in the passenger seat with no sense of direction that would usually almost land us veering toward another state altogether. There are certain things that he taught me that have become completely ingrained in me, such as rotating dishes, towels etc. after each wash to not use the same ones consecutively. When I was little we would tease each other about his love of classical or opera vs. rock music, extolling the virtues of the former until you converted. He could leave you speechless when he would give you the long piercing stare from his blue grey eyes & declare “ Come on now, you think I’ m stupid.” He certainly was very unique & special in so many ways. He left an impression on all those he met, with his inquisitive mind, undying thirst for knowledge, his good natured wit & humour, his magnetic personality that naturally drew people into his orbit, & voila no turning back. May he Rest In Peace and watch over us. I believe he knows the essence of our hearts. He will be in heaven surrounded by his loved ones as he is here. He lived his life the way he wanted for the most part, uncompromising & as he deemed fit. Hope he has a bountiful & endless supply of love & crab. A la prochain mon pere.

As Dr. Marcos‘s family physician in many of the last year‘s of his life I was always astounded at his dignity and rich sense of humor. Everyone who knew him also understood the wonderful sacrifice of Merolena who cared for him all through the pandemic and for many years before, facing lots of difficulties and persisting in her dedication. A wonderful and very unusual man and a terrific end– of – life story.

Uncle Wasfi, Dr. Wasfi, my beloved friends. I will miss you dearly. The fun and loving memories and advices will be cherished for ever.
