Bill was born, and grew up, on the West side of Vancouver in the 1930’s. After serving in the Korean War in the early 1950’s, Bill worked for Canada Post in, and around, East Vancouver. An avid collector of stamps and coins, Bill was also a careful keeper of handwritten journals, providing thoughtful insight into the daily comings and goings of his large family. Bill married Esther Bamford (nee Lasell) in 1958 and they made their home for more than fifty years on E.28th Avenue in Vancouver.
Bill is predeceased by his wife, Esther, stepdaughter, Lynne, stepson, Verne and granddaughter, Valerie. He is survived by his stepson, Roy (Donna), stepdaughter, Sharon, daughter-in-law, Linda, his grandchildren, and his great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank the Chartwell Crescent Gardens Community for their impeccable care of Bill for the last number of years.
In lieu of flowers, donations to BC Children’s Hospital in Bill’s memory are gratefully accepted.
