Celerina “Lily” Villas Balat passed peacefully after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease on May 27, 2020 at The Village of Humber Heights. She is survived by her children Fe Samonte, Jeanina Mataro (Augosto Mataro), Yolanda VanDam (Arthur VanDam), and her 2 grandchildren Deanna Mae Mataro and Allen Andre Mataro. She is also survived by her sister Mercedes Delgado.
Lily rejoins in eternal life her husband Cresulito Balat, her parents Severa and Hipolito Villas, her siblings Nasario Villas, Rufina Singson, Alfredo Villas, Saturnino Villas, and Diosdado Villas.
Lily will be remembered as a strong, loving mother, doting grandmother, sister and dear friend who was devoted to family and loved every moment she spent with them.
The family would like to express deep thanks to the staff at The Village of Humber Heights for their compassionate care.
Private Visitation will take place on June 1, 2020 R.S. Kane Funeral Home, 6150 Yonge St, North York, ON. Private Funeral Services will be held on June 1, 2020 at R.S. Kane Funeral Home, 6150 Yonge St, North York, ON. Interment will be held on June 1, 2020 at York Cemetery, 160 Beecroft Rd, North York, ON.
