OBITUARY

John William Bell

12 October, 196116 November, 2020

We are saddened to announce the passing of our dear husband and father John Bell. He will be missed by his wife of 23 years, Stephanie and by his daughters Julia and Jessica. Beloved brother to Norma Marcotte (Greg) and Betty Andersen (Anders), he will also be missed by sister-in-law Rosemary Mayhew (Paul), his many nieces, nephews and friends.

John was pre-deceased by his parents John and Eileen and his sister Janet.

John was born and raised in Chatham, Ontario where he grew up with three older sisters. In high school he excelled in sports, especially football winning MVP as Center one season.

He attended Bishop's University in Lennoxville, Quebec where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. From there he accepted employment in Toronto where he lived for over thirty five years.

He enjoyed serving his clients as a Certified Financial Planner for many years. He will be remembered for his love of golf, curling, scuba diving and camping but most importantly for the love of his two daughters. John was always well known for his friendly ways, his kindness, generous spirit and willingness to help others.

Service will be held privately at this time but the family does invite you to join them virtually through the link at www.rskane.ca . On Saturday, November 28th the slideshow presentation will begin at 10:00 am, followed by John’s service at 10:30 am.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made in John’s memory to The Salvation Army or The United Way of Greater Toronto. Condolences can be left at www.rskane.ca.

To John’s Family,

I had the pleasure of working with John as one of his mutual fund sales representatives. I was lucky enough to share a couple of golf games and get to know John over the last couple of years. My heart and condolences go out to you.

John and I shared more than a middle name, we both love family. I played golf with John weekly for a number of years and truly enjoyed our time together. We cannot sum up a life in a few words but suffice it to say he was a lovely man and will be much missed.

I am saddened to hear of John's passing. I would not say that I knew him well, but I saw him most Monday evenings at the golf course for the past dozen years or so.
John always had a warm greeting and a smile and when he asked 'how are you' I always felt that he actually cared about the answer.
John will be sadly missed by many of us on Monday evenings.
