Bessie Inez Hester

Bessie Inez Hester, age 89, of Tuscaloosa, died Nov. 8, 2010, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Union Hill Free Will Baptist Church in Coal Fire with Rev. Kevin Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Gloria B. Weaver.

Survivors include her husband of 70 years, Jessie B. "Dutch" Hester; her daughter, Linda Woolbright of Northport; her son, Charles M. Hester (Susan) of Northport; her sister, Lottie Sudduth (Bill) of Reform; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Hester was a lifelong resident of Alabama and a charter member of Union Hill Free Will Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, and Granny.

Pallbearers will be great-grandsons Will Golden, Daimon Weaver, Wren Culp, Jackson Culp, and Marcus Taylor, and Cary Golden, Clayton Lynn, and Doug Sudduth.

Honorary pallbearers are great-great-grandchildren Myles Edgeworth, Brodie Weaver, Connor Harbin, and Gracie Childs, North River Assisted Living, Heritage Health Care & Rehab, Martinview Assisted Living, and Hospice of West Alabama.
