TUSCALOOSA – Charles C. Bannerman, age 72, died February 15, 2017 at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Pineywoods Gospel Tabernacle Church with Jimmy Holliman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider directing. Visitation will be Saturday, February 18, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the church.He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Beulah Bannerman; one brother, John Bannerman; sister, Marie Booker; and one daughter, Rita Maddox. Survivors include his wife, Carol Bannerman; daughter, Linda Hopkins (Ken); brothers, Earl, T.A. and Harvey Bannerman; and grandchildren, Rhonda Deese and Haley Maddox.Pallbearers will be Darrell Turner, Timothy Turner, Edmond Turner, David Banerman, Roy Bannerman and Trevor Bannerman.Honorary pallbearers are Tony Wynn, Mickey Pierce, Members of Nicol Fire Department, staff of Sealy Reality, community of Pineywoods, staff of Hospice of West Alabama, and Lewis and Faye Manderson Cancer Center.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Lewis and Faye Manderson Cancer Center, Hospice of West Alabama or an organization of your choice.
