Dolly Crawford-Pointer

Dolly Odell Crawford- Pointer was born February 10, 1939, to the President and Minnie Crawford in Eutaw, Alabama. She accepted Christ as her Lord and savior at an early age and praised him faithfully until her death. Dolly loved her children and her entire family and reminded them often that she faithfully prayed for them.

Affectionately called Stumpy by her family, she moved to Ohio in her early twenty and return to Alabama after her retiring. She had many jobs throughout her life. She made her later years about feeding the less fortunate members of society. She started a mobile kitchen and with the help of family and volunteers she served free meals to anyone in need.

The sunset of Dolly’s life came the morning of June 29, 2024, at DCH Regional Medical Center. She is preceded in death by her parents, President and Minnie Crawford; her son, Willie James Woodard; her nine siblings; and two grandsons, Taron Colvin and Donald Campbell.

Dolly leaves to cherish her memory; two sons, Robert Lee Woodard and Roy Lee (Denise) Woodard; a niece she called her “Miss Muffet” Melissa (Joseph) Mulholland; her grandchildren Jamie, Kesha, Anthony, Chistopher, Quincy, Keisha, Terrance, Paris, Ariel, Nakia, Kamaria, Sergio, Yuri, Brittany, Lorenzo, Alexis, Charon and Romello, a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A visitation for Dolly will be held Friday, July 12, 2024, from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Sunset Funeral Home, 3802 Watermelon Rd, Northport, AL, 35473, followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Park.
