NORTHPORT – Donna Ramsey, age 79, of Northport, Ala., died September 1, 2018, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, August 9, 2018, at Sunset Funeral Home with Rev. Edward Spain officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Ramsey; parents, Odwin and Juanita Banks; and sister, Tommie Skelton.
Survivors include her son, Mike Ramsey (Molly) of Northport, Ala.; brothers, Billy Banks (Sarah) and David Banks (Judy); grandchildren, Leah Stone and Bart Stone; and other loved ones, nieces and nephews.
Donna was a wonderful wife, mother, sister and aunt. She was devoted to her family and loved each of them dearly. She loved her Shirley Farm neighbors. She never met a stranger; everyone was always welcomed in her home. She loved having her friends and family in her home for football, birthdays and other celebrations and there was always coffee.
Donna was a member of Oasis Fellowship. She loved the Lord and served Him faithfully. She was a prayer warrior and prayed daily for her family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Tracy Scarbrough, Josh Banks, Tim Skelton, Joe Sanders, Andrew Scarbrough, Adam Scarbrough, Aaron Banks and Noah Banks.
Honorary pallbearers are friends and neighbors of Shirley Farms, friends of Oasis Fellowship Church, all of her telephone friends and prayer partners, Dr. Anguiano and staff.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, Love Inc. or a charity of your choice.
