TUSCALOOSA | Ellis Phillips, age 87, of Tuscaloosa, died Jan. 2, 2015. Services will be 1 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 5, 2015 at Phillips Chapel Church with Rev. Jerry Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.He was preceded in death by his wives, Wanez Phillips and Bobbie Simpson Phillips; parents, Jessi and Illa Phillips; sisters, Nellie Phillips, Ella Mae Smalley, and Dottie Lynn; brothers, Buddy, Eddie, Guin, and Waylon Phillips.Survivors include two sons, David Phillips (Sharon), and Stanley Phillips (Linda); brother, J.M. Phillips (Eloise); sister, Nazzilee (Waymon) Rogers and Margaret Smith; grandchildren, Patrick, Scott, Michael and April Phillips; great-grandchildren, Lilly Grace Williams, Addie Grace, and Grayson Phillips.He retired from Central Foundry, and for many years did contract chain link fence work.Pallbearers will be Patrick Phillips, Scott Phillips, Robert Phillips, Gary Phillips, Roger Phillips, and Phil Smith.We would like to say thank you to Park Manor and DCH Regional Medical Center for everything you did for him while in your care.Condolences may be offered at www.sunsetbrown-funeral.com.
