

James Kenneth “Goody” Goodman 74 of Northport, passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at Hospice of West Alabama. The Celebration of Life Service will be at 1p.m Tuesday at Sunset Funeral Home with Dax Lancaster officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lee and Claudine Goodman, his wife Sammie Goodman, his step-daughter Lynn Earnest, and his step-daughter-in-law Kelly Ryland.
Survivors include his children, Cindy Franks and Scott Goodman (Yalonda); step-son, David Ryland; grandchildren, Josh Earnest, Harley Ryland, Brittanie Childers (Joshua), Alison Franks, Halie Goodman, Christopher Goodman, and Clayton Goodman; his special friend, Pat Martin; and a host of great-grandchildren.
After graduating high school, Kenneth enlisted in the Navy and proudly served his country. Right out of the Navy he began working in heating, cooling and refrigeration. After that he started working at Miller Transporter where he stayed until he retired. Being someone that loved to work he began a new adventure at Fred Robertson Wrecker Service, where “Goody” quickly became part of the family. He loved driving his rollback and talking to anyone he met. He will be missed by everyone that knew him.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Robertson, David Robertson, Harley Ryland, Clint Gilliland, Shawn Keller, and Mike Cranmore.
Honorary pallbearers are Fred Robertson Wrecker Service, Dr. Kevin Katona and staff, CICU Nurses and caregivers, and Hospice of West Alabama.
