She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Robert C. Gray and Jane Westbrook Gray.
Jane is survived by her husband of 28 years, Dr. Scott Edmund Atkinson; children, Scott Edmund Atkinson Jr. and Jane Westbrook Atkinson; brother, Robert Charles Gray, Jr.; uncle, James Craig Westbrook, III (Harriet); aunts, Rosalie Gray O’Brien and Ann Westbrook Evans; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Jane grew up in Birmingham, Alabama where she graduated from Mountain Brook High School and attended UAB.
Jane loved The Lord as she did being a mother. She will be remembered for her kindness, outgoing personality, and creativity. She will be greatly missed.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Trinity Presbyterian Church on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at 2 p.m. with visitation beginning at 1 p.m. Arrangements are being handled by Sunset Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family request any donations be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
