

TUSCALOOSA - Joe Frank Green, age 88, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., passed away peacefully at home on February 6, 2018. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 10, 2018, at St. Mark United Methodist Church, with Dr. Mark Lacey and Rev. John Drawhorn officiating. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mertie Green, his sister, Kathryn Rivers, and his daughter, Kim Jackson.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Donna Gaston Green; daughters, Natalie Blankenship (Rain) and Laurie Vann (Kevin); son, Joe F. Green, Jr. (Alice), all of Tuscaloosa; brother, Paul Green of California; grandchildren, Brandon Massengale (Rachel), Taylor Baggett (Blake), Mary Meigs Jackson, Reid Jackson, Saylor Blankenship, Jack Blankenship, Caroline Vann, Gracie Vann, and Grady Vann; and great grandchild, Ally Tucker Massengale.
Frank was born on February 20, 1929 in Tuscaloosa. He retired from BF Goodrich, where he served as a manager and served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.
After retiring, Frank enjoyed gardening, golf and woodworking. His greatest enjoyment, however, was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Frank was an incredibly kind and humble man.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be the McCollum Sunday school class at St. Mark, Monday morning coffee group, Vestavia Hills neighbors, Pine Valley neighbors, Alabama One Credit Union, golf buddies, and numerous close relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be m ade to St. Mark United Methodist Church or to one's favorite charity.
