I also worked with John at AIDT/ Mercedes. His desk was right next to mine. We had many conversations in our time of working together about hunting, fishing, and cars.  I have good memories of John and the time we worked together.

We knew John  as a Tuscaloosa Sailing Club member.  He was an active racer, camper, and cook.  For years he was the go to cook for the 4th of July annual Butts and Ribs BBQ.  We will miss him at the socials and gatherings as  a good storyteller.   Our condolences to Joslin and John's extended family.  Fair winds and smooth sailing.... Cousin,

Did you know when you called that we were saying goodbye?  Did you have an inkling that two short weeks later you would be gone?  I hold memories of you especially dear.  Hide and seek at Grandma's turned into see who could keep up with Jack's long legs.  In later years, visits at your home (in Alabama) were filled with stories of Oak Park, Highland Park, and Harvest.

My dad shared that he and Grandma drove cross country to see you when you were born and freshly-caught sea bass were handed out in honor of your birth.

Thank you for being part of my journey and until we meet again, please give my love to Grandma, Grandpa, and your parents.

I knew of Johns love for cars, but he sparked my interest in bikes when he worked at the Square Wheel.  I bought two bikes from him.  I still have one of them after over 40 years.  Every time I saw him he would ask me if I still had my Grand Jubilee.  What a loss.  He made me a better person for having known him. Prayers for all of his friends and family.

I'm so sad to hear of Johns passing. John was a customer of ours at Druid Auto Parts and I always enjoyed waiting on him. He had such a passion for cars and he was such an enjoyable person to see walk through those doors. I will surely miss him!!

John and I shared a love for cars. He took me on my first trip to Road Atlanta that was one of the best weekends ever. Always enjoyed his laugh and great stories. Already miss him and am thankful that I knew him.RIP

John Thorn and I shared a love for cars. He took me on my first trip to Road Atlanta for one of the most fun weekend I have ever. Loved his laugh. The last time I saw him,at Egans,he returned a ticket stub from A BAMA VS Tenn football game we went to.I will painfully miss him and be thanful i knew him.

John and I raced sports cars together in the early 70's. He had a Datsun that used to thrash our British cars. I went to a Chukkernation reunion about 10 years ago and was so glad to see him. I spoke to him about a month ago. What a loss. Great guy.

I only knew you for a short time but that time was awesome. The stories of your life and the things you have done were truely inspiring. You pretty much accomplished in just a month what i have been trying to do for several years you flipped that switch in my kids head that made him want to learn about cars and i thank you.
