

Lloyd Perkins, age 83, of Northport, died Nov. 4, 2010, at home. Services will be 2 p.m. today at Carroll’s Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Allan Roggli officiating. Burial will be 4 p.m. at Liberty Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Lamar County with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Rose Hester Perkins; his parents, T.F. and Agnes Perkins; his brother, Bob Perkins; and his twin brother, Floyd Perkins.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Dunn Perkins; his daughters, Judy Williamson (Jinny) of Pasco, Wash. and Joy Posey (Danny); his son, Jim Perkins (Beverly) of Bettendorf, Iowa; his sister, Bertie Mae Moseley of Atlanta Ga.; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Per-kins, Benjamin Perkins, Jeremy Williamson, Joshua Williamson, Amy Williamson Jordan, Mark Posey, Jonathan Posey, and Kelly Colburn (Terry); and five great-grandchildren.
Mr. Perkins grew up in Lamar County, Ala. He spent 22 years in the U.S. Air Force in Military Ser-vice. He was employed by Morrison Food Service in both the Sylacauga and Talladega Hospitals. After Rose’s death, he relocated to Northport. There he met and married Frances Dunn in 2002. Mr. Perkins was a deacon at Carroll’s Creek Baptist Church, a Gideon, and President of AL Civitan.
Pallbearers will be David Per-kins, Danny Perkins, Phillip Gurganus, Mark Gurganus, Jonathan Posey, and Mark Posey.
Honorary pallbearers are members of Carroll’s Creek Baptist Church in Northport, Gideon Camp, Robbie and Mil-ton Gurganus, and family.
In lieu of flowers, the family re-quests that donations be made to Gideons or Carroll’s Creek Baptist Church Building Fund.
