

SAMANTHA| Martha J. Christian, age 77, of Berry, died Friday, December 12, 2014 at her residence. Services will be 1 p.m. Sunday, December 14, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home with Bro. Bill Richards and Bro. Terry Joe Oswalt officiating. Burial will follow at Piney Woods Cemetery with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ned Christian; son, James (Jimmy) Christian; daughter, Cathy Christian; granddaughter, Amanda Cannon; parents, Ed and Earlene Bone; and sister, Doris Stines.
Survivors include her daughters, Lori Robertson (Dennis) and Carol Morris (Sandy); sister, Pat Miles (Johnny); brothers, John Bone (Jan), James Bone (Pat), Bill Bone (Mary), Paul Bone (Karen), and Byron; grandchildren, Jeremy Christian (Brittany), Ashley Turner (Andrew), April Nash (Andy), Heather Cannon (Justin), Lisa Roane (Rae), Rozalyn Cannon, Kayla White (Jeremiah), and Seth Morris; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Martha was born in Memphis, Tenn. on September 24, 1937, the daughter of Ed and Francis Bone. She married Ned Christian in 1957. They were married for 43 years and had four children. Martha retired from Partlow after 28 years of service.
She has been a devout servant for the Lord for many years. She attended Oregonia Baptist and was a member of Englewood Baptist. She cherished her family and loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren dearly. Martha loved Jesus Christ with all her heart. She was loved by all who knew her and will be dearly missed.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Rains, Rodney Christian, Ronnie Miles, Terry Grammer, Jason Stripling, Bobby Cannon, Ken Swindle, and Clark Collins.
Honorary pallbearers are Faye Beavers, Amy Williams, Amanda Jones, Roxanne, Erica and Allison of West Alabama Hospice, Shirley Benson, Cheree Collins, Sharon Hawkins, Dr. Busenhelner, Dr. Warren Holley, Dr. Wallace, Dr. Pam Hughes, and friends and family of Samantha and Windham Springs communities.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Piney Woods Cemetery or Oregonia Baptist Cemetery.
