Mary L Rhodes

Mary Lee Rhodes, age 92, of Northport died at her residence in Northport on December 17, 2018. Services will be held at the Northport Church of God on Friday, December 21, 2018 at 2 PM with the Reverend Tony Pope, Reverend Greg Strickland and Wayne Graves officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 PM until 2 PM. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial provider directing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Louis Tucker, her daughter, Barbara Housley, and her loving companion of over 60 years, Joe Rhodes. She is survived by her daughter Tammy R Talley (Mike) Of Northport, her son Bob Rhodes(Sue) of Loudon, TN And a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

In her early years, she worked outside the home in the hospital and nursing home helping others, but has devoted her life to Christ and has always been a willing vessel working in the kingdom of God. She taught Sunday school for over 35 years and her love and influence has pointed countless others to Christ. Her family was the delight of her life.

Pallbearers will be Mike Graves, Patrick Graves, Wayne Graves, Nathan Miller, Jeffrey Redding and Buddy Sexton. The family would like to give special recognition to her caregivers, Elizabeth Butler, Vicky Geer, Bertie Rhone-Davis, Dr. Stephen Browne and Alabama Hospice Care.
